Accelerating climate warming have significant effects on vegetation
especially in Arctic areas; however it is not only the climate that
regulates vegetation in the North: also herbivores, especially
reindeer, can have large impacts on plants. In my PhD-project I will
study the combined effects of grazing and warming on mountain
vegetation in Northern Fennoscandia. Using mainly an experimental
approach I aim to better understand the role of herbivores in
mitigating or diminishing the predicted climate driven vegetation
changes.
